CATRA always needs volunteers for lessons and for ongoing animal care and farm chores.  It's a great way to spend your life.  We have a lot of fun.  Volunteer and rider forms are available here.  If you haven't volunteered yet, you also need a New Volunteer Application. If you would like to help CATRA financially, please check out our new wish list/budget for an idea of what it takes to keep us going.  Note that there is no category for emloyee salaries, because we are all-volunteer!  Every penny that we receive goes toward providing program services.

There's a new memorial barn at CATRA, but it isn't finished.  You can help.  For more information, please click here.   CATRA is saddened to learn of the passing of  Ray Hunt, master horse communicator.  Ray gave CATRA the great honor of being named as his "in lieu of flowers" designee.

CATRA forms are available here:

New Volunteer Application

Welcome to all our new riders and volunteers.  It is truly our pleasure to help you be all that you can be.  That goes for our riders, our young volunteers, and especially those dedicated folk who have made CATRA their life's work.

"CATRA-Raising" Committees are now forming.  We need help with Speaker's Bureau, CATRA-Thon, Grants & Donations, FundRaisers, and Public Relations.  For more information, or to be on our email list, please contact imfled2@comcast.net.

Caitlin's Corner has lots of things for sale, including helmets, sweatshirts, jackets, and lots of gift items.  Check it out for your holiday shopping.

CATRA has been providing therapeutic riding services to the people of central Pennsylvania since 1985.  We would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to each of the hundreds of volunteers who have generously given their time over the years so that our challenged riders and their families might experience some of the joys in life that others take for granted. Without you, CATRA would be only a beautiful dream. You have helped to make it a reality.  And thanks to CATRA, we volunteers can make our own lives matter.

Check out the pictures on our critter pix page.  We have a lot of animals at CATRA, and this is your chance to see some of them.  Below: "twins" Bobbie & Bubba.. "Winter" lessons are in session.  If you would like to help, come on out during regular lessons, and we'll teach you what you need to know.  Please don't wait for a telephone plea. Dress in layers for best winter comfort.

Safety first! Horses are large and strong, and they tend to act by reflex. Do not stand behind them or anywhere that they can't see you!

THANK YOU!  THANK YOU!  From Ben and Shirley to all the volunteers who have been pitching in this season.  You know who you are.  We couldn't make it without you.

We would like to get some testimonials about your experiences at CATRA.  What does CATRA mean to you?  How has it changed your life?  Click here to send us an email, or mail it to PO Box 339, Grantville, PA 17028.   If you are a CATRA volunteer, thank you, and don't forget to sign in and out.  We especially need to know when you are coming back, so we can make up a schedule.
